The original locality for lapis lazuli is the Sar-e-Sang deposit in Afghanistan's remote Badakhshan district. In the Achaemenid period, azure was called "Kabutkeh". In the Sassanid period, azure was consumed a lot. The roof of Ctesiphon, as well as various sculptures, is made of azure; it is possible that they used azurite instead of azure in making these works. 

A name taken from the Persian lājevard and taken from the Arabic is common. In the past, in addition to aspects of radial and dignity causing the stone to the rich, this stone has more applications in dyeing fabrics, glazed and painted porcelain pottery, tile -making and properties of Azure in treatment and medical use.

Pakistan in the Chagay Mountains at Bibi Dick, 35 km north of Dalbandian near the Afghan ‎border, Lake Baikal in western Russia where Lapis Lazuli contains Dolomite marble, the ‎Pamirs, South America, the Sinai Peninsula, and parts of Iran. ‎

It should be noted that old books always prefer Badakhshan azure stone to different types ‎of azure stones.‎

Located on Bubiyan Island in northern Kuwait, Bubiyan Port is a strategic deep-water port project that is under development. Once completed, it is expected to become a major transshipment hub in the region, connecting Kuwait to global trade routes. The port will have advanced container handling facilities and industrial zones.
